Subject: Any with NO health problems?

To fellow ferret moms and dads and house vets

I would like to find out if anyone knows the stats or better yet
has ANYONE had OR known a ferret owner whose ferret LIVED to old age
without getting tumors, cancer, adrenal, etc?
I love ferrets. I wish I had many more. Milo, my 4yr old boy, was
sick for the last 4 weeks with not eating and having diarrhea, on two
different type of trio medicines, looking like he had gastric ulcer.
Finally this morning, I took him back to the vet because his poop
began to be just slivers after being on his new medicines for a few
days and vomited his breakfast and meds, grinding his teeth. I
thought, hoped that I was in the clear since his blood tests came
back in range, that just maybe he had IBD or an ulcer, or the worst
maybe a tumor that could be removed and then everything would be
fine.
Unfornately, when the vet went in, he found spread Intestinal
Cancer and the beginnings of adrenal tumor. No hope. He was put to
sleep on the table.
I have a 6 yr old female ferret who had adrenal tumor at 2 yrs old
and a 1yr old ferret. So that is out of 3 ferrets, 2 have had medical
situations. If I had 10 would 8 out of 10 or 2 out of 10 have
problems?
I just wonder if anyone has looked into the health of ferrets and
did some type of study.
Do ferrets have more medical problems than the dog or cat?
