Maybe this will work. We haven't had that problem with the ferts but did with
the cats. I bought bags of florist's rocks at a local craft store. They come
in all sizes. I topped the dirt around the plant with those. The water could
still seep down but the cats couldn't get to it. I think you could also buy
some type of florist or garden rocks at your local hardware store. HomeDepot,
Lowe's etc. Good luck! Hope this helps!

PS ~ The ones that I got are probably considered medium size. Too small and
they could dig through and or possibly ingest them. :)
