Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Re: Tap Water or Spring Water
Hi,
I don't know if it matters, but I give my animals Brita
filtered water. I mainly filter my water as I hate the local
tap water odor, although they say it's alright. I just give
the cats and ferrets what I give myself I guess.
Since I primarily work days, my ferrets and I wake up about
5:30 for coffee (me) and playtime (them, well, all of us).
They're out for about 2 hours, and caged until I return from
work about 4:15. Then they're out until about 8:00 or when
they've decided it's bedtime. I live on the east coast US,
and my ferret cage is in a corner of the living room. I
generally have lights out at about 10-ish when I'll go off to
another room to read or watch TV. My question is, are they
getting too much light? Should they be covered at night, or
even during the day? They're not in direct light at any time,
but there are windows in the room.

Have lost track, but was pathology done to know if there was
actually a malignancy. Most adrenal tumors are not
malignancies.
I saw a hypothesis advanced by a non-vet once on that but I
don't know of any study, and the person who advanced the
hypothesis had a lot of variables present. The reality is
that if I had a sheet if paper for each hypothesis out there
I could paper our condo. Some may eventually pan out and
many likely won't. We all have our favorites that we try to
wrk around; Steve and I put them into covered cages at night
to maximize melatonin output. Like I said, some hypotheses
wil pan out and some won't ovedr time as more in known.
