Subject: euthanasia methods
My vet does an injection into the abdomen. It's very peaceful,
relatively painless (they've never acted like it hurt) and I'm with
them the whole time. I give them a treat during the injection and
they just continue licking the Ferretone or Laxastat until they fall
alseep. Shortly thereafter they pass on.
I personally don't see the point of a heartstick when something like
this is available. I've never had any problems (and with a shelter
I've had to do this too often) and I highly recommend it over any
other method of euthanasia. Just my $0.02 worth.
