I am a new ferret owner so I have been doing a lot of research,
reading the posts here and talking to my brother (who is a vet). In
particular I was reading your web site and something caught my eye.
It only caught my eye because of this topic otherwise I would not
have asked about it.
I was looking at the "duck soup recipes" thinking I should probably
make some for Spaz (our 7 week old ferret) could get used to various
foods for when and if she got sick. I noticed that most of the
recipes called for chromium, one even specifically said add chromium
(the North Coast Duck Soup) to the recipe for insulinoma ferrets. I
was curious as to why this would be so. The only thing I can hazard
to guess is that the ingredients were high in sugar and that in this
case you would want to lower the sugar levels but not being a vet I
do not know for sure. Could you give me an explanation about this?
I promise I am not questioning anyone's advice on this list, but like
I said this topic was on my mind and so when I noticed the recipes it
did make me think of that question.
Thanks,
Melissa
