From all I have read and heard (and witnessed), itchiness is just
another one of those normal ferret traits. Sometimes they will even
pop up out of a deep sleep, scratch like mad, then go back to sleep.

This doesn't appear to be a problem unless you start seeing skin or
coat damage from the scratching. (We see some coat-chewing in one of
ours, but even this isn't serious enough to be a problem.)

It *could* be environmental conditions or allergens causing this, but
unless you see skin damage, or if they can't function normally for
scratching all the time, it's probably just normal ferret itchiness.
