I have a rice-eater. Everyone will be happy to know that the
rice comes out the same size as it went in. The short GI tract
of the ferret doesn't seem to be long enough to expand the
rice. Of my three ferts, luckily only one is the rice eater.
The other two tuck their ears back and close their eyes before
they try to snorkel through the rice. I never have to worry
about having to sweep up any rice on the floor from an over
zealous digger though! Summer, the rice vacuum, takes care of
that for me.
