Skip the chromium usage. It may lower blood glucose levels.

If it's 2.0 mg of the four month Lupron, that's the right price.
It's quite likely that he could do quite well with half that dosage,
thereby cutting the cost to $100 for a dose that will last at least
four months.

I have to agree with this. I know we always say surgery is the best
option, and some have said they've had ferrets that old have
successful surgery at that age, but I would be extremely hesitant at
9 years old. This is only my opinion, you understand.
