Dear Dr. Williams,
You continue to amaze me with your knowledge.
You are VERY correct that Snoop has lost most of the muscle in his
hind legs. I have been doing the "physical therapy" which was
recommended by my vet. I also read someplace that aqua-therapy could
be beneficial to muscle recovery as well. So I float him in warm
water every night (he really isn't fond of swimming).
I have also taken to my vet your statement of facts
regarding "stroke" (or the relative lack thereof) in ferrets. They
have agreed to perform some blood work to see if there are any clues.
The X-ray done nearly 5 weeks ago didn't turn up any evidence.

Also, upon your advice, I have requested that he be put on pred
rather than dex.

Do you have any recommedations regarding the muscle loss? Since
steriods bulk up the body builders, shouldn't that be the case in
ferrets as well?

Thanks again for your help!!

Nicole
