BOTH have value. If there is a questionable result on one then use the other maker's test. There has been a lot said about folks doing the saliva tests wrong and user-inaccuracy will make that given trial worthless.

You could go with either the United test or the Avecon one for a first test; the former does have a longer documented track record, and that aspect has a certain value, but frankly the largest danger is in NOT testing.

One thing I have learned through the years is that rumors (and often quotes) -- bad or good -- are usually inaccurate, so just take everything with a grain of salt, verify, verify, verify, and if something sounds too bad or too good to be true then DO doubt it seriously. "Worthless" is a very extreme word so it deserves investigation to be most fair to everyone.

If it makes you feel most comfortable why not learn about each one and then compare them and make your final choice, as you would with any important purchase? If you go into the Files section you'll find resource lists that will aid you. What may be best for one individual or one situation may not be best for another.
