Subject: Ashes is scheduled for surgery in the morning.

Thought I'd see if anyone had a ferret that developed a tumor in
his/her ear,
and what results you had when surgery was done.
Also wondering if $250.00 sounds reasonable for this type of
surgery.
Charlene and the WA. tails

Hi Charlene my name is Tina and I just recently went through this
back in December of 2001. The growth that they removed was inside
the curvy part of her ear. It had not grown into the ear canal
thankfully. I assume this is the same situation with yours. To
answer one of your questions the price I paid for the removal of
this growth was 350.00 Now that included the anesthesia, which my
vet used Sevo, and the pathology report of the growth.
Bria, my ferret did not loose any of her ear. They shaved all
around and had to trim her little whiskers on that side, but other
than that that was about it. They got all of the tumor as there has
been no re-growth. She did fantastic through the surgery. Keep in
mind that Bria is now eight years old.
I had DR Williams on the board here look at the pathology report and
you can find out more info on this if you search the archives for
"Bria". If I can be of any more help to you please feel free to
email me.
Sincerely, Tina, Bria, Jasper and little Lucy.
