Subject: strange bump on ferret's back
My 3 year old ferret, Honey, has a strange bump on her back, right
between her front shoulders. It is kind of big and was red, but now
what appears to be a kind of scab on it. We had made an appointment
to bring her to the vet, but then had to cancel it when one ferret
(Rascal) had to have Adrenal Gland Surgery and the following week Q-
tip had an emergency situation that took all week and it still being
treated. I want to bring Honey in to the vet, but I'm still paying
for Rascal and Q-tips emergencies. Plus Q-tip has more trips to the
vet to be made and possibly surgery. But this bump really scares
me. I mentioned it once in conversation to the vet and he said he
would most likely have to do get a sample to find out what it is and
most likely have surgery. On top of the other vet bills, I'm not
sure when I can do this. If it needs to be done immediatly though, I
will do what I have to.
So that is my question. Is this thing with Honey an emergency or can
it wait til Q-tip is over her emergency and isolation? ( I discussed
Q-tips problems on the board last week, thank you eveyone for your
help)
Also does anyone have any thoughts on what this could be? It really
does worry me. Thank you for your help.
