I posted this earlier, but with the problems Yahoo is having, it must
have disappeared. If this ends up being a duplicate post, sorry!

I would not vaccinate a sick ferret. If he does have distemper, the
distemper vaccine will not help at this point in time.

In the distant past, I've vaccinated two ferrets who were not in the
greatest health at the time. The quickly went downhill after the
vaccination. Coincidence? I have no idea, but it seems to me that
in their weakened state, something that fires up the immune system is
not what they need. I don't see any harm in waiting a while until
the ferret is recovered before considering a vaccination, as long as
there is no obvious risk of exposure to whatever you're vaccinating
for.

I'd love to hear how vets feel on this topic.
