Subject: New Member Loosing Fur Baby

Hello all,

I just joined the list a few days ago in hopes of lurking and
finding some info to save our ferret. Here is what happened:

Psycho (neutered male rescue of unknown age) had a cyst so we
made an appointment to have it lanced. When the vet got in
there he discovered a huge tumor underneath. He removed it
and sent it for a biopsy. This was last Wednesday. Thursday
morning when they came in in the morning his bladder was
blocked and they had to do emergency surgery. Things were
looking good, he was eating and feeling spry. Test came back
as cancer. We had small hope that it would not return and we
would at least have six months to a year with our baby.
Monday we had to take him back in because he pulled out one of
the sutures. The vet found ANOTHER tumur that wasn't even
there before. This one is larger than the first and is on the
Apocrine gland whatever that is! Vet says he has
Adenocarcinoma and has approximately two weeks to live. Our
hopes are that he will live long enough to remove the sutures
and cone so that he can play and have some fun for a few days.
Once he starts showing signs of pain and stops eating we will
let him go peacefully.

Thanks for listening,
