Subject: Delurking with insulinoma question

I,ve browsed the previous messages but can't find what I,m looking for.. So,
sorry to bother you but here's my question.

My 5 yo Douk was diagnosed with insulinoma. While being thru surgery for an
intersusception (pardon my French, but I am :)) doubled with an exploration,
the Vet pointed out an enlarged spleen but no obvious tumors he could
remove... He touched nothing and recommended medication.
Douk gave him a few frights thru the surgery, his heart doesn't seem to
handle the anesthesia with pleasure.
Douk is not a youngun, Prednizone (0.1mg/day) seems to work fine, he now
eats by himself like a wolf :)
Now the rude question.. The time he lives now is imho and in his opinion too
apparently :), quality time. He's happy, playful again and eats...
Well... For how long ? How long till we have to upgrade the medication ? How
long till surgery is the last solution ?

thx for your help, I know you all receive like 10 letters like that per day but,
as everybody else in this case, I'm scared.
