Subject: Delurking with insulinoma question ADDENDA

It is probably dexamethasone (decadron) it is about 6 times
as potent as prednisone- so your dose is probably about right,
equal to .6mg/day of pred, depending on the weight you still have
room to adjust up. My girl with insulinoma had many other medical
problems,
and made it 14 months on medications.
A good high protein, meat based diet, and it really also depends
on the level of glucose, some ferrets don't do well, with very low
lows, and others stay a little low only and aren't symptomatic while
on meds, and good diet.

I agree with Mike, surgery is best done early, not late if that is a what
you want to do. Read about it by searching the FHL archives, and
at www.ferretcentral.org as well as links provided at that site.
