Subject: Seizure?

One of my ferrets, Digger, just had an odd attack.

I heard him start making a weird noise, sort of a crying sound. I
thought perhaps he was playing too rough with one of the others. I
found him half under the edge of a rolling filing cabinet with no other
ferrets around, so thought perhaps he got stuck. Well, that didn't
seem to be the case either.

I picked him up and he was having a little trouble breathing, with
very "wet" breaths rattling in his nose. He was drooling or had
vomitted clear. But the strangest thing was that his abdomen was
spasming constantly. I don't want to say he was having a seizure, as
he wasn't unresponsive - he just seemed frightened and still.

After a couple of minutes, the spasms passed and he relaxed and went
back to his normal impatient self.

Does anyone have any suggestions what this attack might be?

This is the same little guy who had a vomitting attack about 6mo ago
(perhaps the same thing - I heard second-hand about it from my
girlfriend), has had vague GI problems which seem to have cleared up,
and now has slight anemia (PCV 34) and very mildly low BG.

Thanks,

roger
