I have continued to vaccinate all my ferrets for both distemper and
rabies, even the 9 who have ADV. We are in an area where rabies is
prevelent, so even though they stay in my house, I want them
protected in case one should get outside. I am not sure if distemper
is common or not, though. If one of my kids was ill at the time the
vaccinations were due, I would not get him vaccinated, though.
So far I have not had any problems from vaccinating my positives, but
9 is hardly a valid statistical sample.
