Indeed. Pertwee will have been on dexamethasone for two years this
spring. He'll be four years old in July. He's likely to be on
dexamethasone for the rest of his life, and considering that I've
invested over $6,000 in all the medical problems he's had, I hope that
is a very long life indeed. Of course, Pertwee does *not* have
insulinoma.

What does your vet mean by "official"? I think if (s)he consults with
any of the experienced ferret vets in this country the confirmation will
be forthcoming. Remember, though, that surgery for insulinoma does
extend the ferret's life, and is the normal treatment, at least with
vets around here. We are planning on a surgery for Lady Ayeka, our girl
with insulinoma. Hopefully, after surgery, she won't need prednisone
again for quite some time.
