It sounds like you've already taken Kramer to the vet
for exploratory surgery. I hope he pulls through it OK.

For feeding sick ferrets, I use a method suggested a
long time ago by Dr. Williams. Buy some Gerber's 2nd
chicken baby food -- it only has two ingredients,
chicken and water (comparable brands are OK, too, as
long as they're made the same way). If you like, you can
heat it for a few seconds in the microwave to get it
lukewarm, but be careful, because just as with human
babies, you don't want it to be too hot. If the ferret
doesn't seem interested in it at first, put a dab on his
nose. Eventually, he'll lick it off. After you've done
this two or three times, he'll probably decide he likes
it and eat it on his own. I've had great success with
this approach.
