Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Feeding a Sick Ferret

too much sugar in ferretvite.. ferrets with insulinoma should have a high
protein food without sugar.. may I suggest blending their kibble in a
blender and adding the baby food to it with water to make a nice soup..
served slightly above body temperature and I bet your little one would be
very thrilled :) it can be frozen in ice cube trays and warmed when needed
in the microwave..

All don't despair with insulinoma.. if you work at it you can stabilize them
and give them a good quality of life... I kept my beloved Cassie monster
going over 2 years with it.. my Coffee girl over 18 months.. and have been
treating my Princess Hawat now for over 10 months.. Cassie passed away at
7+, Coffee over 8 and Hawat is between 6-7 now and is so far hanging in
there..

It's a crappy disease and someday you'll lose them to it or to complications
from it.. but someday we'll lose all of them to something..

Take care!
