Subject: Questions on taking care of sick ferret

This afternoon when my ferret Nosmo, 7 years old, woke up from his nap he was
sluggish, almost like he was really tired. I put him on my bed to see if
anything was wrong and he sort of stumbled around. He was breathing pretty
heavy and looked confused and like he couldn't keep his balance. His nose is
dry but when he is breathing discharge slightly bubbles in his nostrils. And
I can tell that he is congested. Within this short amount of time is has had
soft stool (not quite diarrhea), which is a medium brown.

I have searched the Internet re: duck soup but I don't know if I what Nosmo's
symptoms are is enough to feed him that. I have him near a humidifier right
now and it seems to have slowed down his breathing. A few minutes ago he was
eager to eat a few bites of mashed banana baby food and then went fast
asleep. To help him swallow the mashed banana he sipped some Pedialyte.

I have never had to do this before and any help anyone can provide I am
grateful. And also if there is anything additional I need to do please let
me know.

Thank you,
Mandy
