Subject: hairballs
I had a couple of questions on hairballs. First is: one of my ferrets
fur seems to be thinning out. I have seen clumps of fur in the cage.
It's not in one spot and seems to be a generalized thinning. Should I
worry? He is also have some slimy poops. Sometimes green. I worry
about him having hairballs because of the thinning hair. I don't know
where the poops come in at. I don't know what to give him for
hairballs. I have some hairball remedy stuff and thought I'd list the
ingredients to see what people thought of it. The ingredients are:
malt extract, liquid petrolatum, glycerine, natural salmon flavor,
acacia and Vitamin B1 (thiamine HCl). What do you think? He has an
appointment with the vet on Thursday. I don't quite know what to ask
her or tell her. Any suggestions on that would help too. He has never
been to her before. She specializes in cats and exotics. She seems to
know quite a bit about ECE and ADV. But what other questions should I
ask her. What else should she know? This is the first time any of
them have gone for anything other than shots. And this is the first
time with her. (The other vet seemed to be very busy and not able to
give me the attention to answer all my questions. Not a bash just
honest. His practice is very popular and always crowded.) Sorry this
