Others have already suggested drawing from the jugular - the books
recommended say the same. Experienced vets will scruff them and draw
with them awake, but my vet (who learns more about ferrets every time I
visit...LOL), pops them in the isoflourane tank briefly before
drawing. If they're otherwise healthy, it causes no problems, they
don't experience any stress, and they wake up completely before you
even leave the clinic.
