Subject: Re: The making of a ferret vet. (THANK YOU)

Thank you very much for your thoughtful replies. I am very
concerned now about this Vets ability to help me in the future.
Today when I called to discuss the things I have learned since my
last post, he made a very peculiar comment. He asked me why I would
be wanting any more ferrets now that all mine are gone, considering
the fact that 70% of them will all die from adrenal problems anyhow.
WOW, I was shocked! I said, "if you've never let one into your
heart you'd never understand" I thanked him for his time and hung
up. What's up with that!? He's never drawn blood from a ferret but
he's an expert on adrenal statistics now??? Boy was I wrong about
him! Other than annual shots I have never had any experience with
vets, I had no idea how difficult it would be to find a good one.

So it's back to the drawing board to try and find the right one.
Unfortunately I'm running out of options. I've dealt with 3 out of
5 of the possibilities, and they are all out of the question now.
Small town living sure has it's disadvantages. I think I will make
a "script" to use in future interviews with potential vets. I
welcome all suggestions regarding what sorts of questions I should be
asking.

Thanks again,
Cindy
