Subject: Stenotic Preputial Opening
Ryder is a 4.5 year old European male, had a left adrenal removed
last July along with 3 tumors on his pancreas and a cyst on his
bladder. There were no symptoms at that time other than "dribbling"
and thinning hair under his neck. It took him more than two months
to truly feel well again, turned orange for a period in Sept./Oct.
and still hasn't fully grown hair back from the surgery prep but has
gained weight and seems to have been feeling great.
Recent blood work up along with an adv test were all normal,
including a negative adv test from United. Liver enzymes were
normal.
He's been dribbling urine, thinning hair on his neck and exhibiting
mating behavior. Took him in for adrenal surgery today but our vet
preferred to run a urinalysis and do an x-ray to rule out stones or
infection. Urinalysis & x-ray were clear, no mass could be seen.
However, even under anesthesia, his penis could not be extracted.
Dr. X described it as stenotic preputial opening. She hasn't seen
this before so before proceeding with any surgery, we need info.....
What would cause it, what do we do?
In the meantime, Ryder has been given a one month Lupron depot.
Thanks for any info!
