Subject: Dental Care
I have a 4-year old ferret who was taken into the shelter at 6
months. At that time she was given up, she had chewed an electrical
cord, resulting in burns causing her to lose a portion of her lips
on one side, a couple of teeth, part of her tongue and her hearing.
It appears that she has developed a cavity in a tooth that's always
esposed to the air where the lips are gone. I'm thinking that since
she's already missing a couple of teeth, that it's important to try
to preserve what she does have on that side. My vet does not fill
teeth. What do I look for - where do I look for someone to fill a
ferret tooth? Or, is it not as important as I think it is?
Thanks for any suggestions.
