Subject: Re:Staph/ferrets question

This post is ONE answer for this question of Tara's (quote)"Can
ferrets get staph? Do they carry it like humans?
Any info appreciated as i have not seen this discussed...
Love & Thanks" (end-quote)

I'm Susie, a rescuer and a Licensed Practical Nurse with the care of
30 ferrets, currently. my partner and I have learned from many
credible veterinarian and other sources that ferrets can contract all
the same bacterial infections that humans are subject to, as well as
many of the same viral diseases. And so good handwashing between
handlings of different cage-mate groups, good handwashing after each
cages' cleanings is of paramount importance.
We have also discovered an excellent, and safe for ALL living tissues
anti-bacterial.
Colloidal Silver. Colloidal silver is marketed in pharmacies and
nutrition-specialty stores as a mineral supplement under many brand-
names and in varying "strengths" of parts-per-million (ppm). What it
does is kill bacterium, many kinds of fungi and spores on contact
within six minutes and it is so safe, you can apply it to open
wounds, eye tissue or ingest it with no ill effects of any sort.
We have been taking a few drops of colloidal silver in our drinking
water, and putting a few drops, daily, into the drinking water of our
30 ferrets, 8 cats, 1 shar-pei dog, 14 white doves, rabbit and white
rat and they are all healthy and have been infection-free for the
past two years that we've been using it. For quality we use off-the-
shelf brand-names (there are several) rather than making our own,
which would be less expensive, but I'd rather give ALL my time to all
the critters than "fiddle" and run the risk of breaking aseptic
technique.
Only two drops of the "weakest"-made colloidal silver in an eight-
ounce glass of bateria-laden pond-water has been proven to safely
destroy ALL of the bacteria in that water within six minutes. (see
literature on colloidal silver at www.007.com ).
Colloidal silver is currently used in hospital burn-treatment centers
to keep down the multitude of infections in burn victims. I would
suggest to "Tara"'s family that they insist the husband's Next
intravenous treatment be made with a syringeful of previously-
unopened colloidal silver along with his Keflex, and you will very
likely both see the completed finishing of the blood bacterial
problem.
This is Neither a diagnosis Nor a prescription! JUST a suggestion!
(I'm ONLY a practical nurse, NOT a doctor of any sort! :)
