Subject: pain management
Hi, I am bringing my ferret in to the vet tomorrow to have a
leftover piece of anal gland tissue removed. It is abscessing
again and he is in pain. His rectum is red and inflamed, he is
avoiding the litterbox (tiny poops everywhere else). His
respiration is up and he's listless. I've only been able to
look at him in empathy.
If anyone has any ideas on pain management *tonight* (he's
going to be taken care of tomorrow, March 21) I'd like to hear
about it. Maybe a little ice? I think I'll start with that.
