What you're describing is adrenal hair loss. There is no set "end"
for the hair loss to begin. Some ferrets begin to lose hair on the
rump, others across the shoulders and/or down the spine (two of mine
had that pattern) and, well, really, just about anywhere. One of
mine even started loosing hair first on the tops of his feet.
Add in the frequent urination and it's time to do something quickly
before his prostate completely shuts down the possibility of
urinating and you have an emergency on your hands.
In my opinion, based on your description, no testing of any kind is
needed at this point. Bandit has an adrenal problem and you should
go into surgery as soon as possible.
