Subject: Over the Counter Ear Mite Medicine?

Hello. I searched the archives and found perscription ear mite
medicines, but nothing about the over the counter ones. Are their
any good ones?

I noticed that one of my ferrets had a bloody ear last night. I
brought out the otoscope and saw ear mites on several of the ferrets
(we got a new rescue a little while ago). My regular vet won't be
in until Tuesday. That seems like a long time to leave them. I
called another vet, and since they've never seen me before, they
want to see _all_ the ferrets and won't give me any medicine to take
home to ones they don't see. My last vet had just given me a
syringe with Ivemectrin in in, and let me go home and treat the
ferrets he hadn't seen. I've put a phone call into him, but thats a
several hour drive now. I don't suppose there is any chance of a
perscription and a regular pharmacy filling it? So, what is best,
wait a few days, fork over lots of money, or go over the counter?
