Why would your vet need to see ALL your ferrets, if
one has mites, it is only sensible to treat them ALL!

Because it is illegal for any veterinarian to treat an animal they
have not verified the status of. Yes, all the ferrets probably need
to be treated. However, I will not dispense medication for an
animal that I have not examined without a prescription from a
veterinarian who has examined the animal within the past year. That
is to protect both myself legally, and to protect the animals from
an improper prescription. I realize that ear mite medicine is
unlikely to be harmful, but the law is clear.
