Subject: adrenal + insulinoma are there compatible medical
treatments?

I inherited Belle 51/2 years ago when my daughter
moved to ferret unfriendly California. She started
showing signs of Cushing's that year but I did not
consider surgery until last year when she had a severe
vomiting episode. She had a left adrenalectomy and
was also found to have barely visible insulinomas. A
partial pancreatectomy was done at that time. She
recovered from surgery with ease, very quickly. Her
hair came all back and seemed more energetic. Only
two months later I did notice some spaciness, but she
had a high protein kitten formula (40%) and (18%) fat.
That stabilized her until some weeks ago. She became
very itchy and hair started falling off again form the
scratching. She also seems so much spacier when
standing still with some minor tremors. I checked
other web sites where a "duck soup" recipe is posted.
It seems to have more sugar than I thought Belle
should get. But how much is too much? Are the
medications for insulinomas taxing on the adrenal that
is left? I find myself feeding her a tad of unflavored
natural yogurt to ease her nausea and encourage her to
keep eating. I feel her time might be running out and
I can't help her. The yogurt is not giving her
diarrhea, is there any other reason why she shouldn'
have it? Another surgery can't be the only solution
available. Her surgeon never reccomended any meds.
Any ideas?
