Yes, do consider trying Proglycem (Diazoxide). We have been advised in the past that when it can be avoided or reduced Prednisone should be if cardiomyopathy is present since is not a good for cardiomyopathy. (Am willing to be taught differently if this has changed since.) Heck, we even had one on Phenobarbital just in case it might help. Finally had to risk surgery despite the cardiomyopathy in her case. Proglycem can be a very useful medication, expensive, but worth it.
