Subject: bitting

Hello everyone ,

I have purchased a ferrit last week for my 8 year old daughter and
boy I was totally
unprepared and disappointed the first day. I went on-line to
research the needs and wants of my new pet. I was discouraged that
they are bitters. I felt that I may not be able to fullfill his
needs. And after the $350.00 for my feritt his cage and ect. I felt
bad. So I tried different tactics to stop the bitting , ( I didnt
wasnt my child to get harmed ) Now one week later Pinky is very well
mannered and is a great pet to have.
What we did was evertime he attempted to bite I given him a baby
nipple that he would suck and chew on. Now he go and gets his nipple
when he feels the need to chew. We also have 3 birds and a
Rottweiler and our feritt Loves the dog the best. They play together
and chase each other and they lay around with one another. So thanks
to everyone for all the e-mails they have been so helpful . Pinky
the feritt is only 6 weeks old and is almost totally litter trained.
