Subject: Gingivitis

At our last vet visit, the vet found that Brangwyn has gingivitis
(sp?). Being a bit more conserned about the possible blockage that
brought us to the vet in the first place, I forgot to ask what can be done
to help fight the gingivitis. Does anyone have any suggestions? Brangwyn
& Rhodry are 3 years old, and Nevyn is nearly there, so if this is a
typical experience of 3 year olds (is it?), then I should probably take
steps to prevent gingivitis in the other two.

As for the possible blockage, the vet thought she might be feeling
something in Brangwyn's intestines, but wasn't 100% sure. Because she was
eating, drinking, playing & pooping well, and hadn't gagged or thrown up
since I called into the vet's office, she thought 'Gwyn was on the
recovery (but I still had to watch her very carefully). After each bout
of gagging or throwing up, I gave her some of the ferret laxative (for
hairballs, etc), which the vet said was a good action on my part.
