Subject: gradual weight lose

We have a six year old albino female who is healthy and happy. However,
she has been gradually losing weight since this last winter. She has
dropped
from 2 lbs 2 oz down to 1 lb 8 oz. She doesn't like nutrical or duck soup.
All of
our ferrets eat a combination of Path Valley, Iams Kitten and Purina Kitten.
They refuse to eat Totally Ferret after we got a bad batch a couple of years
back. Is there a medicine that we can ask for that will help her gain
weight? Prednisone? Or maybe brewers yeast? We would like to keep from
stressing her as much as possible, but the weight loss is bothering us
whether
it does her or not. We do not have easy access to ferret knowledgable vets
and travel 4 hours when surgery is needed. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks, Steve and Becky McMall
