Subject: Suggestion for Everyone Who Posts
If I may make a suggestion to everyone who posts.
Unless you live in a state which still lives in another
century and considers ferrets to be illegal, PLEASE say what
city and state you are from.
I see many posts which state that there are no ferret
experienced vets near to you. I used to think the same thing
and considered myself a very experience ferret owner of six.
Until the one time I mentioned I lived south of Boston,
Massachusetts USA, I got three responses to my email and got a
very good referral to an experienced vet 3 miles from me which
saved one of my ferrets life. Prior to that I kept getting
in my car and drive over an hour to the only experienced vet I
had come across.
Lets use each other as a resource, maybe someone can on the
list can give you a good referral. At least it would be good
to know another Ferret Friend in your area. By net working
here, I also made two other Ferret Friends and we offer
advise, exchange extra ferret items and ferret sit for each
other. She has four ferrets that I ferret sat for her, one of
which needed specific medical care and she was extremely
worried about boarding them at a vet 2 hours away. Instead
I watched them all over the holidays when she traveled to
California. She could call in to check on them and had a
worry-free time with her family knowing that another
experienced Ferret Mommy was giving love & care instead of
just boarding her babies. This summer we are planning a
camping vacation and I was at a quandary as to whether it was
safe to bring my six with me or who would watch them. She has
agreed to ferret sit my babies and it is much more comforting
to have another Ferret Mommy tend to them.
So please, if you have this sort of question, include your
city, state (country) so everyone can help you!
