Ferrets frequently lose some weight in preparation for the summer
months. While it is hardly summer, I think the change is prompted by
the lengthening of the daylight hours. I know some of my ferrets
have already started losing their winter weight and coats. So, the
loss you are seeing may be a normal thing.
