Subject: Arni to see oncologist
Dear FHL people:
I made an appointment for Thursday morning with the
veterinary oncologist who treated my ferret Weasel for
lymphoma three years ago. Weasel had a good quality of life
for four months with the chemo treatment. He was an older
ferret whom I adopted. His lymphoma was behind the eye. Now
Arni should get a definitive diagnosis and treatment options
will be considered.
In the meantime Arni is much improved. He ate quite a bit of
kibble this afternoon on his own. I have been supplementing
it with the high calorie foods which he accepts in small
amounts with some coaxing. His stool is a normal color now
and formed but still seedy looking.
Thanks to Dr. Williams for his comments. I have copied his
Modern Ferret article from the internet. Actually, Arni was
treated for ulcers with Amoxi, Flagyl and Pepto for about 10
days. He fought the Flagyl so hard that I was not sure how
much got down and how much was foamed and drooled out of his
mouth. If it does turn out that he has Helicobacter I will
take the suggestions of all of you at FHL.
Thanks to everyone for your support during this difficult
time. I will keep you informed.
Mary and Arni
