Subject: Post Insulinoma diagnosis.. strange situation.

Hi all,
My question might interest other Insulinoma fuzz-Moms/Dads :)

I dunno if you remember me and my fuzzy Douk who was diagnosed with insulinoma nearly 2 months ago..
To sum it up, it began with an interssusception, followed by a quick and splendid recovery. but 15 days later, Douk was lethargic, stopped eating, had to force feed him and even then, though correctly fed, the glycemia was way low.
Then he turned yellow due to a massive pancreatite. We rushed to the vet, he was sedated nearly one day, put under prednizone, metrodinazol and something else for the pancreas. Fed with seringe 3 times/day
10 days later, he was alright, we decided with the vet to give medication every 2 days, then 3 days, then we stopped...
Actually, he has not seen any medication for 15 days and is still happy, playful and eats normally... and no more hypoglycemia. (we tested him)
My question is : What the hell happened ? :)
If he has an insulinoma, producing way too much insulin, he shouldn't be ok without surgery/medication, right ? During the intersusception, the vet saw he had an enlarged spleen hence suspected insulinoma when Douk's glycemia dropped but could it be something else ?
Or did the medication sort of "slow down" the progression of the illness ?
Or is it something common and I should expect a backlash ?

*crosses her fingers, so far so good :)*
