Subject: Flagyl given in the ear?

I did read about the topical cream version of Flagyl and how it's not
supposed to be very effective since it's rubbed into their skin
instead of taken orally.

A friend of mine just got a prescription for the Flagyl cream and
they are administering it into her ferret's ears (half a dose in each
ear).

Would this work any better than the topical cream?
