I have had a few ferrets euthanized myself and fortunately, I have
never seen any twitching after death. I'm sure it's just the muscles
contracting on their own and nothing related to not being fully gone.

Like you, I've had quite a few dreams about them afterwards.
Usually, I'm trying to save them from some life-threatening thing...
drowning for instance, or they woke up sometime after the injection
and were just fine. I suppose those dreams are natural after a
traumatic event.
