It is not the indiividual which becomes resistant.

When antibiotics are used (misused as in not being finished,
over-prescribed, etc.) the DISEASE ORGANISMS have many
exposures to them and get a chance to either die off or to have a
lucky a mutation or two that allow a strain to surv ive the
antibiotic. When that happens you have an anitbiotic resistent
strain.

Is it possible to have ferret diseases that become antibiotic
resistant? Sure. I'd expect that the drug alternatives would
depend on the most likely disease options that work for
anaerobic infections.
