We had one diagnosed with cardio in 1995, I believe it was, by sonograph and
x-ray. The vet gave her 3 months to live. He used the x-rays as a teaching
example of advanced cardiomyopathy. Abby died just last year, some six years
later, from insulinoma.

We started treating her with Lasix, then a Duck Soup with vitamins C and E,
Alpha Lipoic Acid, and CoQ-10. After a while we were able to cut down on the
lasix, then eventually eliminate it, as her energy improved and the bloating
diminished. She was not on lasix for the last 5 1/2 years of her life.

This is a sample of one. I can't tell you if the vitamins and supplements
had anything to do with it or not. I certainly can't suggest that anyone
else would get similar results. I had heard that some vets were having
success in treating cardiomyopathy in dogs with CoQ-10 and Alpha Lipoic Acid.
Maybe some of our vets here can confirm that.
