Subject: Sick ferret

I have a female ferret approximately three years old
that started grinding her teeth and pawing at the
mouth. Last year, we had a scare with her. She
stopped eating and drinking and lost a significant
amount of weight in two short days. We took her to
the vet and they but her on IV for four days along
with 2 antibiotics. After she came home, we had to
feed her A/D and slowly reintroduced her to her
kibble. They never did diagnose her with anything.
However, the vet did say that one of her teeth is
cracked. Could that be the cause of her pawing at the
mouth and grinding her teeth? If not, does anyone
know what it could be? I am going to take her to the
vet but I would like to be able to offer some
explanation for her sickness.

Thanks in Advance.

Georgia
