Subject: Torn off back nail
Hi all,
When I went home after work yesterday our little Washu had torn off
one of her back nails it was completely gone. There was some blood on
the bottom floor of their cage not a lot but enough to leave partial
paw prints. I am wondering about several things, Is she in a lot of
pain, and if she is, is there anything I can give her. She doesn't
seem to even notice that the nail is gone. What should I be doing to
keep it clean so it doesn't get infected? What could cause a nail to
come completely off? I looked all over their cage and didn't see any
part of the nail. This is the second time this has happened to this
ferret could she just have week brittle nails? Does she need to be
seen by our vet?
