Subject: Adrenal surgery costs

Hi
Actually,i think that's a bit high..(but cryo is WELL worth it)
We use a Vet here in Wa,State who will readily admit he's expensive. He
is but he's EXCELLENT.....
We had a bilateral adrenal operation on our 7 yr old ferret a year
ago.He charged us $600.00 for BOTH to be taken....It also comes with a
guarantee that if any part grows back or if she has any sort of adrenal
problem,ever...all we will pay for is the Iso.....
My worry for you is.....what if it turns out to be both adrenals? I
would also ask the price if it's the right and not the left adrenal
(because of the vena cava it can be much ore complicated)
I would want estimates on all cases....

We took her home that night and she barely even bruised. We blocked off
the bedroom bathroom as a sick cage but had a serious problem keeping
her down.
She felt GREAT and did BEAUTIFULLY!!!
She will be on Florinef the rest of her life, easily hidden in her
chicken soup.

I will admit tho.....IF this Vet is the only cryo Vet around AND he's
good....I would use him no matter the price especially if he lets you
make payments. We had previously used a different Vet many years ago who
used regular surgery. Both ferrets died hours later from bleeding
out...he had nicked the vena cava....I will NEVER take that chance
again....
This surgery was a breeze....
You are both in my Prayers,
Tara
