Subject: Hind-end weakness or muscle cramp

Awhile back Pepper (11 month old silver) had problems
walking. Her back right leg didn't seem to work and she held
it up- like it was injured.

We checked it and it didn't appear to be separated or
broke...so we figured she just twisted it coming down a tube
(which we have since removed) from the cage. After about 1/2
a day she was fine again. Well, then it happened a month
later but didn't last very long. This morning she was doing
it again. Same leg. It appears to hurt her when it is like
this. She does try to run around but looks up at me like
"what's wrong mommy? It hurts today".

Have you ever heard of occasional hind end weakness? She is
not a big climber and hasn't fallen off of anything that I
know of.

She seems to fall over on her back half cause of this. She is
babying the leg but doesn't appear to be anything wrong with
it.

I haven't taken her to the vet yet because .... well just
didn't want to go to my vet and tell her "but she couldn't use
her leg earlier, yes, I know it is fine now...but I am telling
you, she couldn't before".

Could this be signs of insulinoma? Like I said, she is only
11 months old and she was fixed at 6 months. She still has
her scent glands. She eats well (8&1 Ultimate) and gets out
at least 5 hours a day.

Any ideas?
