Subject: Re: PUTTING KRAMER TO SLEEP????????

Hi, Jen,

I'm not a vet, but...

All the symptoms you report are consistent with his insulinoma. Both
insulinoma and adrenal disease can be treated with surgery, and doing so
may well extend his life and improve the quality of his life. My Podo
just had adrenal surgery last week, and he's at least a year and a half
older than Kramer. Podo is doing brilliantly. Adrenal and insulinoma
can be treated at the same time, BTW, so you are looking at *one*
surgery. With that, and treatment for the ulcers, he may well recover.

I would definitely get Kramer to a good ferret vet if he were mine, and
I sure wouldn't be ready to put him to sleep unless my vet felt the
problems weren't treatable. Everything you described can be treated,
and Kramer may have several good years left if properly treated.

All the best,
Caity
